Geodata

Geodata allows you to display areas, lines, etc., on maps. With the help of these areas, responsibilities can also be assigned based on location, for example: depending on the position of the marker, the responsible person for the process is automatically determined.
For this, you can reference the created geodata entries in a Map Control.

The following configuration options are available for a geodata entry:

  • Name:
The name helps you find and reference the entry later. It can be freely chosen and is purely intended for locating the entry.
  • Map:
If more than one map is available in the system (e.g., a map of Germany and a map of France), you can select the map here.
Note: Since a world map is available in the Cloud, you cannot switch between maps here and therefore do not have this option available.
  • File Upload:
linqi allows you to import GeoJSON as well as KML / KMZ files to import geodata from other applications.
The properties of the areas are imported as metadata (see below). Color data, etc., are imported via the following properties of the areas:
    • fill:
Specifies the fill color of the area.
    • fill-opacity:
Specifies the opacity of the fill. A value of 0 means the area is completely transparent, a value of 1 means the area is not transparent at all.
    • stroke:
Specifies the color of the border / line.
    • stroke-opacity:
Specifies the opacity of the line. A value of 0 means the line is completely transparent, a value of 1 means the line is not transparent at all.
    • stroke-width:
Specifies the thickness of the border / lines in pixels.
  • Metadata:
Using metadata, you can specify additional values for areas and lines. This way, you can define, for example, a responsibility for an area, a project number, or whether an area is a risk zone or not.
In this section, you can create and edit the available metadata, which you can then fill with different values for each area.
For each metadata entry, you must specify the following values:
    • Name:
Here you specify the name of the metadata value. This could be "Responsibility" or something similar. You can reference the values in various places using this name.
    • Type:
Select the data type of the metadata here. This determines where you can reference this metadata value as a Placeholder, as well as which values can be entered there.

Editing Geodata

In this view, a map is displayed. On the left side, various tools are available to draw markers and areas.
By double-clicking on an area or line, you can switch to edit mode to adjust this area.
In addition to the buttons for creating new elements, you have the following options:

  • Filling Settings ():
Here you can determine the colors for the fill of the areas.
  • Edge Settings ():
Here you can determine the colors for the border / line, as well as the thickness of the lines.
  • Edit Metadata ():
If you are in edit mode for an area, you can adjust the metadata values using this button.
