Working with Dashboards

Dashboards give you a snapshot of the current state of your processes. In linqi you open your dashboards via the Home item in the side navigation – it is the entry page of the application and shows your default dashboard by default.

You see the dashboards of the business units you have access to. Creating and designing dashboards is done by the process designers – see the Dashboard design section for an overview.

Selecting a dashboard

The top bar of the dashboard contains your dashboard selection. Click the selection to see the available entries:

  • Your dashboards are shown with a dashboard icon.
  • Your playlists are shown with a play icon. See Dashboard playlist for details.
  • The last entry Create dashboard sequence opens the panel to create a new playlist.

Select a dashboard to display it. When opening the Home page, linqi loads the dashboard specified in the address if there is one; otherwise your default dashboard is loaded.

You can further handle each entry via its contextual menu:

  • Open dashboard Displays the dashboard in the current view.
  • Open in new tab Opens the dashboard in a new tab of the application.
  • Set as default dashboard Determines the dashboard that is loaded automatically when the Home page is opened. When selecting, a confirmation Changing the default dashboard appears, noting that the selected dashboard becomes your default dashboard. Selecting a dashboard that is already set as default removes the assignment.

To the right of the dashboard selection is the Search box. The entered search text filters the content of the displayed dashboard as well as the process list in the quick editing.

Automatic refresh

Click the Update dashboard automatically button in the top bar () to turn on automatic data refresh. linqi then updates the displayed values every 30 seconds.

A short message at the bottom of the view confirms the state:

  • 30-second update active. The automatic refresh has been turned on.
  • 30-second update disabled. The automatic refresh has been turned off.

The setting is stored in your browser and persists after the application is restarted.

Dashboard content

A dashboard consists of elements configured for your client – such as process tables, key figures, process lists, or cards. Each element shows the current state of the data behind it.

  • Process tables Show the running processes you have access to. From a table row you can, among other things, open a process, display its AI summary, or start the quick editing.
  • Key figures A key figure shows the actual value in relation to the target value, for example in the form “12 of 20 reached (60 %)”. If a key figure cannot be loaded, linqi shows the message Error when loading the key figure.

The available element types and how they are designed are described in the Dashboard design section.

Quick editing

In the process tables of a dashboard you can work through running processes directly without opening the process fully. Click Open quick editing in the row of a process.

The quick editing shows the form of the current process step directly in the dashboard. You can fill in the values and advance the process to the next step. Click Close quick editing to return to the normal dashboard view.

info

Whether the quick editing is available in a table, and which columns it shows, is defined by the dashboard. A table can disable the quick editing; the displayed columns follow the quick edit priority configured for the table.

Dashboard playlist

With a playlist you assemble a sequence of dashboards that linqi switches through automatically at a defined rate – for example as a daily overview at a location.

Creating a playlist

Select the entry Create dashboard sequence in the dashboard selection. In the panel you create the playlist using the following fields:

  • Display name The display name helps you to identify and select the sequence.
  • Selected dashboards Select the dashboards to be included in the sequence. Drag the entries to adjust the order of the dashboards in the playlist. At least one dashboard must be selected.
  • Speed The speed determines how quickly the dashboards are changed in the sequence. The following options are available:
    • Slowly
    • Normal
    • Fast

Starting a playlist

Playlists appear in the dashboard selection with a play icon. The contextual menu of a playlist offers the following options:

  • Start playlist Starts the playback of the playlist.
  • Edit playlist Reopens the playlist in the panel to adjust display name, dashboards, or speed.
  • Delete playlist Removes the playlist after a confirmation.

While playing, the top bar shows the control buttons:

  • Load previous dashboard Shows the previous dashboard of the playlist.
  • Pause playlist '…' / Continue playlist '…' Pauses or resumes the automatic playback.
  • Load next dashboard Shows the next dashboard of the playlist.

As soon as you interact with the dashboard area itself – for example opening a process – the playback pauses automatically. You can resume it via the Continue playlist button.

A playlist that contains no dashboards shows the message There are no dashboards in the sequence.

Feedback

The top bar contains the Open feedback area button (). It opens the feedback area, where you can review your rating and comments. If you have not submitted feedback yet, linqi points out that you can share your opinion within a process via the feedback button. See Working with processes – Feedback for details.

If no dashboard is available

If you open the Home page and you have no dashboard yet, linqi shows the Ready to get started hint with the text that you don't have a dashboard yet. Depending on your permissions, the following options are available:

  • Create a dashboard Opens the dashboard list, where you can create a dashboard.
  • Create a client Opens the client administration, where you can create your own client.
  • Open help Opens the linqi help.

If you have neither the permission to create dashboards nor to create a client, linqi notes that you should ask the client administrator whether you can get access to a dashboard.

If the view of a selected dashboard shows the message You do not have access to this application., you are missing access to the respective dashboard. Contact your client administrator in this case.
