BPMN 2.0
Here you find the settings for the BPMN 2.0 Designer. The area contains the following sub-items.
General
- Open BPMN 2.0 Designer by default: If you activate this option, the BPMN 2.0 Designer is opened by default when a process is opened for editing. If you deactivate this option, the Process Designer is opened instead. If a person switches between the BPMN 2.0 Designer and the Process Designer, this is saved and preferred the next time the process is opened.
- Open metadata when creating: If you activate this option, the metadata is opened by default when a process is created. This allows you to force the process metadata to be filled in.
- Standard elements: Select here the standard elements that are already included in a new process. These elements can then be edited or deleted.
Process elements
Select here which BPMN 2.0 elements can be inserted into the process. The elements are toggled using the 0 activate and 0 disable buttons.
Deactivated elements no longer appear in the element palette of the Designer. Already existing elements are not deleted in order not to damage existing processes.
Export templates
Manage here the export templates for the BPMN 2.0 exports. These templates are used to export the BPMN 2.0 processes into a document. You can edit the templates and add new templates. The export formats are described in Export & Import.
Glossary
In this glossary you enter texts that are suggested to users in the Process Designer, for example when entering risks. This allows you to enter standard texts much more quickly. The entries are available in the glossary of the BPMN 2.0 Designer.
Autogeneration
Here you define the mapping for the generation. This area contains two tabs:
- Executable process to BPMN 2.0 process: Mapping of the elements of the executable process onto the BPMN 2.0 elements.
- BPMN 2.0 Process to Executable Process: Mapping of the BPMN 2.0 elements onto the elements of the executable process.
A mapping consists of the following fields:
- Source element: Specify here the source element that will be converted into the target element. Example: If you select the Condition action as source element, all conditions are converted into the target element during automatic generation.
- Target element: Specify here the target element into which the source element is converted.
- Source keywords: Specify here keywords that must appear in the text of the BPMN 2.0 element so that it is converted into the target element. Example: If you enter the keyword "email", all BPMN 2.0 elements that contain this word in their text are converted into the target element. You can enter multiple keywords in separate lines. If additionally a source element and keywords are specified, both conditions must be met.
Elements that have no mapping are ignored during automatic generation. The mapping is used in the automatic generation.
Numbering
Here you adjust the numbering of the BPMN 2.0 processes:
- Activate numbering: If you activate numbering, the process steps are assigned a consecutive number. This number can help to clearly identify a process step.
- Numbering events: If you activate this option, events are taken into account when numbering is activated. Otherwise, events are not numbered.
- Numbering tasks: If you activate this option, tasks are taken into account when numbering is activated. Otherwise, tasks are not numbered.
- Numbering gateways: If you activate this option, gateways are taken into account when numbering is activated. Otherwise, gateways are not numbered.
- Step size: The step size determines how many steps are skipped between the numbers. Example: If you enter 10 here, the numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, and so on are used.
