Export / Import

To share processes with other people, it is possible to export or import processes in linqi.

Export

Within the process list, you can select the process you want to export. The following button is then available at the top for exporting:

You can also find the same function in the context menu via the button next to the process name ().

Executable process format:
If the BPMN 2.0 feature is not activated, the process is immediately exported in linqi's own executable format. This format contains all associated forms, document templates, etc. Connections to external systems are also exported.
Important: Sensitive data such as passwords are not exported here and must be adapted after the import.

If you have activated the BPMN 2.0 feature, the following formats are available in addition to the linqi internal, executable process:

  • BPMN 2.0 XML: This format exports the BPMN 2.0 process in the standard BPMN 2.0 XML format. These files can be imported into many BPMN 2.0 tools.
  • BPMN 2.0 XPDL: This format exports the BPMN 2.0 process in XPDL format. These files can be imported into various tools.
  • BPMN 2.0 SVG: The graphical representation of the BPMN 2.0 process is exported here in SVG format. This image format is a vector format and can therefore be enlarged without loss. This allows you to integrate the graphical representation into documents or websites.
  • BPMN 2.0 PNG: The graphical representation of the BPMN 2.0 process is exported here in PNG format. This image can be integrated into Word, for example.
  • BPMN 2.0 PDF: You can use this function to export the BPMN 2.0 process to a PDF file. You can print the graphical representation, as well as metadata, etc. To be able to use this function, you must define one or more export templates in the client settings.
  • BPMN 2.0 metadata: This function exports the metadata of the BPMN 2.0 process as well as the individual elements in CSV format. You can then open this with Excel, for example.

Import

You can also import processes in the process list using the following button

This button opens a panel in which you can insert the file to be imported using drag'n'drop. You can then import the process using the Import button.

Executable process format:
linqi's own format is always supported. Of course, all forms, document templates etc. are imported.

If the BPMN 2.0 feature is activated, you can also import the following formats:

  • BPMN 2.0 XML (.bpmn, .xml): This BPMN 2.0 XML Standard Format imports the BPMN 2.0 process definition.
  • BPMN 2.0 XPDL (.xpdl): The XPDL Format imports the process definition as a BPMN 2.0 process.
  • BPMN 2.0 yEd (.xgml, .graphml): BPMN 2.0 processes created with yEd can be imported via this file format.

Within the BPMN 2.0 Process Designer, you can also upload a file in one of these formats to overwrite an existing BPMN 2.0 definition. To do this, you will find the menu item Upload BPMN 2.0 definition below the cogwheel button ().

Process manual

If the BPMN 2.0 feature is activated, you can also use the following button to export a process manual in PDF format, which lists and defines various processes in a document:

You can also use tags to export only a specific set of processes.

info

You must define an export template within the client settings to be able to use this function.
