Testing
While you are building a process, it will always be necessary to test an intermediate state. For this purpose, linqi provides the function to start a test process:
A panel then opens in which you can finally start the test process. You also have the following options:
Overwrite email recipients:
Below the External systems area, you can overwrite the email recipients for the test process. This means that all emails sent as part of the process are not sent to the original recipients, but to the recipients specified there. Multiple recipients can be separated by semicolons.
- Overwrite variables**:
It is possible to overwrite variable values at startup. For example, you can adjust the url of an external system for a test, or simulate that a process is started for a specific room, for example.
The settings you make there are saved on your device and pre-filled the next time you start it.
You can finally start the process using the Start test process button at the bottom. You will then be redirected to the new test process and can carry it out as usual. Here you can use Analysis mode to gain a detailed insight into the execution of the process at any time.
If an error occurs during startup (e.g. because an external system cannot be reached), you will only receive an error message and will not be redirected. If you still want to open the process, you can open it via the list of test processes (see below).
Test process properties
Test processes have certain properties. The following rules apply to test processes:
- Test processes do not appear in the data of dashboards.
- Test processes are deleted as soon as they are completed / have run through completely.
- Test processes are deleted if you make a change to the process definition. This is necessary to ensure that a process does not fall into an undefined state.
- All actions are carried out normally. This means that e-mails etc. are sent as normal.
List of test processes
You can open a list of running test processes in the Process Designer at any time. The following button is available for this:
The list of running test processes then opens. You can open a running test process using the Open icon ().
You can also delete a test process at any time using the delete button (). However, as test processes are automatically deleted at various points as described above, this is rarely necessary.
