Automatic generation

With automatic generation you generate one model from the other:

  • In the Process Designer (executable process): Generate process from BPMN 2.0 creates the executable linqi process from the saved BPMN 2.0 model.
  • In the BPMN 2.0 Designer: Generate BPMN 2.0 from process creates the BPMN 2.0 model from the executable linqi process.

You find both functions under More functions in the toolbar.

Process​

  1. Select the menu entry. The entry is disabled until the process is saved.
  2. The generated model is loaded as a preview.

The preview is a read-only view. After the review you save the generated model as a new version or discard it. You can close it with Save as new version or Discard.

Mapping​

The mapping between the elements of both representations is defined by the business unit in the business unit settings. There you determine which elements and keywords are taken into account during generation.

Elements that have no mapping are ignored during automatic generation. In particular, elements with multiple outputs (such as conditions) should have a mapping, otherwise no clear mapping is possible and the generation must stop at this point.
