Process Map

Via the Process Map element, you can display your processes and dashboards in a structured way on the dashboard. This allows you to provide users with a central entry point to find processes and dashboards, group them in a meaningful way (e.g., by management, performance, and support processes), and navigate from map to map to deeper topics.

info

Elements of the type BPMN 2.0 Process are only available if the BPMN 2.0 feature is activated.

Configuration

Within the configuration, the following options are available:

  • Title:
Enter the display name of the element here. This will be displayed to users so they know which control it is.
  • Standard Process Map: Select here the process map that should be displayed by default.
  • Embed Link: You can use this link to embed the process map in other applications. Only the process map is displayed; menus and similar elements are hidden.
  • Process Maps: Use the Add Process Map button to add new process maps to the element. You can create multiple maps and link them together so that users can jump from map to map and go deeper into topics. Each process map can be expanded and has the following options:
    • Name: Enter the name of the process map here.
    • Groupings: Use the Add Grouping button to add groupings to the process map. A grouping is displayed to the right and left of layers, so that you can group multiple layers together. You can adjust the order of the groupings by dragging and dropping. The following options are available per grouping:
      • Title Left: Enter the title that is displayed on the left side of the grouping.
      • Icon Left: Select an icon that is displayed on the left side of the grouping.
      • Title Right: Enter the title that is displayed on the right side of the grouping.
      • Icon Right: Select an icon that is displayed on the right side of the grouping.
      • Color: Determine the color of the grouping.
    • Layers: Use the Add Layer button to add layers to the process map. A layer is a collection of processes, dashboards, and other process maps. In this way, for example, you can group all management processes into one layer and all performance processes into another layer. You can adjust the order of the layers by dragging and dropping. The following options are available per layer:
      • Name: Enter the name of the layer here.
      • Shape: Select the shape of the entries of the layer. The following options are available:
        • Rectangle
        • Arrow to the Right
        • Arrow to the Left
        • Arrow Up
        • Arrow Down
      • Color: Determine the color of the elements of this layer.
      • Grouping: Select the grouping in which the layer is to be sorted.
      • Elements: Use the Add Element button to add elements to the layer. An element is a process, a dashboard, or another process map and is displayed in the process map automatically. You can adjust the order of the elements by dragging and dropping. The following options are available per element:
        • Element Type: Select the type of the element. The following options are available:
          • Executable Process: References executable linqi processes.
          • BPMN 2.0 Process: References BPMN 2.0 processes.
          • Dashboard: References a dashboard.
          • Process Map: References another process map, to which the user switches when the element is pressed.
        • Business Unit: Select here the business unit from which the data will be loaded. Persons will only see these entries if they also have access to this business unit.
        • Source: Select here whether you want to configure the elements statically or, for example, load all elements of a tag. Using a tag, you can keep the process map dynamic, for example, automatically inserting newly created processes. The following options are available:
          • Static: You select the referenced processes, dashboards, or process maps yourself.
          • Tag: All elements that contain at least one of the selected tags are loaded. You can select multiple tags.
        • Processes: If the source is Static and the element type is Executable Process or BPMN 2.0 Process, select the processes that should be displayed in the process map here.
        • Dashboards: If the source is Static and the element type is Dashboard, select the dashboards that should be displayed in the process map here.
        • Tags: If the source is Tag, select the tags whose elements will be loaded here.
        • Process Map: If the element type is Process Map, select here the process map to which you want to switch when the element is pressed.

Display on the Dashboard

The process map displays the standard process map. The elements are displayed within the layers in the selected shape (rectangle or arrow), with the layers and groupings and their names and icons to the right and left of the layers. When pressing an element:

  • Executable Process: The referenced process is started.
  • BPMN 2.0 Process: The referenced BPMN 2.0 process is opened in the process designer.
  • Dashboard: The referenced dashboard is opened.
  • Process Map: The referenced process map is opened. When switching to another process map, a breadcrumb navigation is displayed above the map, which allows you to return to the previous maps.
