Exchange

The Exchange connection in linqi allows you to interact with Microsoft Exchange servers from processes. For example, you can send emails, surveys, and appointments, cancel appointments, or automatically start a process after an email has been received.

info

To use the Exchange connection, you must activate the corresponding feature in client administration.

Connection

To interact with an Exchange server using Exchange actions in linqi, you must first create a corresponding connection in the connection management ( button in the navigation). To do this, use the plus sign in the upper right corner of the connection list and then select Exchange. The connection settings offer the following options:

  • Display name: The display name helps you to reuse the connection and can be freely assigned.
  • Connection type: Here you can define the type of Exchange server. The following options are available:
    • Classic:
Select this option if you are using an on-premises Exchange server. Only the user name and password are required for the rest of the configuration.
    • Exchange Online:
Select this option if you are using an Exchange Online server. In addition to the user name and password, the client and tenant ID are also required for the rest of the configuration.
  • URL
URL at which this Exchange Server can be accessed. This usually ends with /EWS/Exchange.asmx
  • Username:
Here you must enter the username of the account you want to log in with. This could be the account of a real person or a service account.
  • Password:
Enter the password for the user you want to log in with. This cannot be retrieved later.
  • Client ID:
You only need to fill in this field if the connection type is an Exchange Online server. To log in to such a server, you must create an app registration in Microsoft Entra ID and enter the client ID here. The details of the app registration requirements can be found in the question mark next to the Client ID field.
  • Tenant ID:
You only need to fill in this field if the connection type is an Exchange Online server. The Tenant ID can also be found on the overview page of the app registration in Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Authorized persons:
Here you can specify persons who are allowed to use the configured access in processes. You can also leave this field blank if this access is to be available to all users of the tenant.
